ABOUT THE ART
Delicate faceted turquoise beads are strung alongside a petite pinecone charm. Each pinecone was foraged atop Rumford Whitecap Mountain in Maine during an autumnal hike last year. I cast the cones in sterling silver and created them into tiny charms, perfect replicas of the real thing, to serve as a true mementos of moments spent outdoors! They pair beautifully with turquoise. This choker is perfect for layering and makes a statement on its own, adjustable from 15"-17."

ABOUT THE STONES
CARICO LAKE: The Carico Lake mine is located in Lander County, Nevada. It is located near on the since dried up lake bed of Carico Lake, of which comes it's modern name. In it's history, the mine also has been known as the Aurora Mine and the Stone Cabin Mine. The turquoise emanating from this mine ranges from light green to a bright sky blue blue; it's host rock of limonite creates a light matrix. Although today the Carico Lake mine is one the largest turquoise mines in Nevada, high-grade turquoise from this mine is still fairly uncommon, making the stones in these earrings highly collectible and sought after.
