There are pine trees that can ONLY rejuvenate after the devastation of wildfire. Their pinecones are sealed with a thick resin & can only open to release their seeds when exposed to intense heat via wildfires.

I love these as a metaphor. When we experience trials in life, seasons of devastation & loss, those that burn us to the ground & reduce us to ash, our strength increases fourfold. These inevitable “wildfires” force us to muster up all of our grit, strength & tenacity to endure. And with that strength, we persevere & emerge anew. Forever

These statement rings pay tribute to this transformation. They feature brilliant slices of Fire Opal, set upon sterling twig bands. Each boasts a real, hefty pinecone cast in silver. Beautiful duality. Made to be powerful reminders of your tenacity through trial.

ABOUT THE ART

After a memorable excursion or transformative experience in the wilderness, I procure a lovely little rock from each place to serve as a memento. They now all reside in a dish on our coffee table. Pouring over these simple, yet meaningful stones brings me back to those happy memories. A tiny red rock from my first camping trip as an 11-year-old, a green rock from the cove in which I experienced peaceful solitude, a striped rock from a wilderness trip in college where I met my best friend, and even a rock from the Pictured Rocks cliffs where Isaac proposed to me. Each serves as a sort of “trail marker” for a significant time in my life...this was my inspiration behind these pendants.

Each Gem Collector’s necklace features unique cuts of high quality stones & crystal specimens, mined all over the world: Tourmaline, Apatite, Mexican Fire Opal, Lightning Ridge Opal, Welo Opal, Garnet & Vesuvianite. I crafted each into “collection” like settings, intentionally choose mismatching stones- no two are alike, just as in nature. Each is strung upon a sturdy sterling 18” chain. They were made to become your “trail markers”- necklaces to celebrate a momentous occasion or to simply serve as reminders of the amazing natural beauty of this earth.
